Venue : Samarth Vidyamandir, Velven, Bhor on 15th August, 2015 Our 2nd Service project was RDEP, organised in association with Rotary Club of Shivajinagar at Samarth Vidyamandir, Velven, Bhor on 15th August, 2015 on occasion of Independence day. RDEP means Rotary Distance Education Program. Under this program an audio visual E-learning class room setup (which includes computer, overhead projector with screen and the software) is being provided by Rotary to the needy school in rural areas. This E-learning application includes syllabus from 1st to 10th standard of SSC board, information about carrier guidance, spoken English, adult literacy program, science videos, maths games, vocabulary training and school encyclopaedia, etc. This application is available in English and other languages as well. To support "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan" run by the Government, Rotary has promoted this unique program to bring the children from rural areas in the main stream of education. The system was inaugurated by the District Senior Rotarian Ravi Dhotre along with RCP Sahawas members, School Principal their staff and students. The project was explained by Service Project Director Rtn. Dinkar Palaskar. School Principal Shri. Shaikh agreed the use of the system for the other schools nearby. A good number of CP Sahawas members participated & made the program joyful.
